UPL secretariat sets new date for Kampala derby

The Uganda Premier league secretariat has placed a new date for the pending Kampala derby fixture.

The fixture in context is set to be between Express FC and SC Villa. The game was earlier scheduled to be played  on 1st November.

However it was postponed following the incidents that happened after Express FC’s draw against UPDF FC at the Bombo Military Grounds in Bombo when assistant Referee Fahad Sekayuba was brutally beaten by hooligans.

This happened on his way back to Kampala which led to the Federation to suspend all games involving Express at that time.

The fierce derby that is now labeled the Wankulukuku derby will now take place on 8th December at Muteesa II Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Uganda Premier league will resume on Thursday when SC Villa host Busoga United at Wankulukuku after their Matchday nine games with SC Villa facing Busoga on Thursday, 30th Novembe at Muteesa II Stadium.

For Express they will have a short trip to Lugazi to face the tax collectors of URA FC Friday, 1st December.
