CECAFA U18: Uganda secure first win of the tournament

Uganda returned to winning ways after beating Zanzibar 2-1 in their second match of the CECAFA U18 championship played at the Bukhungu Stadium, Kenya on Wednesday.

Two goals from Travis Mutyaba and a Zaidi Hamis own-goal helped Uganda collect their first win at the tournament.

Mutyaba scored from outside the box in the 17th minute before Saidi Musa took advantage of goalkeeper Siraje Etuta’s mistake to level matters four minutes to half time.

In the 65th minute Zaidi Hamis made it 2-1 netting the ball in his net from a Alex Yiga cross.

Thèse were Uganda’s first three points in two games having lost the first 1-0 to Tanzania.

In their next fixture, Uganda will face South Sudan, who beat Tanzania 2-1 on Wednesday.
