UPL: Mayanja stars as KCCA revenge against Busoga

Saidi Mayanja run the show with two goals and an assist as KCCA FC revenged their 2-1 loss to Busoga United last year.

The Kasasiro boys put up a show staging a 4-1 result at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Thursday evening.

Of the four KCCA scored two in the opening half as Filbert Obenchan opened his account  for the hosts through a header off a Saidi Mayanja’s corner kick.

Three minutes to the end of the first half, Saidi Mayanja doubled the lead utilizing an Emmanuel Wasswa’s low cross.

In the 51st minute, Usama Arafat delivered a cross for Saidi Mayanja scoring his second goal and the third for his team.

Six minutes later Usama Arafat put his name on the score sheet before Isaac Isinde capitalized on a corner kick in the eightieth minute to get a consolation goal for the visitors.

Into the game, KCCA were dominant throughout, Usama, Mayanja and Katenga got more involved in the game.

Busoga United only had moments in the game where Emmanuel Ajo, Matata got more involved as well as substitute Moses Logono who later dominated the left wing.

Ashraf Mugume and Mohammed Shaban, KCCA’s only players who travelled with the Uganda cranes to Morocco came on as substitutes in the second half.

The Kasasiro boys move to the seventh position with 32 points while Busoga United main in the relegation zone placed fourteenth with 17 pionts.

Abdallah Mubiru’s boys will travel to the Gadafi Arena in Jinja on 5th April to play Gadafi fc.

Busoga United will keep their fight for survival as they host SC Villa on 7th April at the Njeru Technical Center.
