UPL: COVID crisis forces Secretariat to shift to base

The Uganda Premier League secretariat has been forced to temporarily shift base from Namboole to Lungujja due to the COVID-19 crisis.

In a press release circulated by the secretariat’s Head of Marketing and communications, Gordon Roy Mundeyi, the UPL has confirmed that they will be moving to Lungujja at the FUFA’s Special Interest Groups offices.

This is because the Mandela National Stadium premises are being occupied as an institution quarantine center for COVID-19 patients.

“Dear our esteemed clients, the government of Uganda has designated Mandela National Stadium as a COVID-19 Institutional Quarantine Centre.” part of the press release read.

“As a result, the Uganda Premier League Secretariat has temporarily moved its operations to Lungujja at the FUFA Special Interest Groups offices until such a time when we will return to the old address at Mandela National Stadium.”

This comes at a time when the return of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League is imminent and the UPL secretariat is needed to aid in the preparations for the new season.
