The Federation of Uganda Football Association ( FUFA) has confirmed that they will host the 2023 edition of the CECAFA U15 Tournament.

This was revealed on Thursday morning by the FUFA President Moses Magogo in a press briefing about National Teams held at FUFA House in Mengo

“FUFA has decided to host the 2023 CECAFA U15 Boys championship,” Magogo told a press conference before adding “This is a tournament we believe is crucial in the development of players”

“Many of you see Travis Mutyaba today but he is a product of the U15 team and for us we think, there are many talented players that can get the opportunity to play and get exposed to competitions at that age,”

“Nobody wants to host it, so from the FUFA Executive Committee that sat on 18th March, We decided that we will host it this year”

The tournament was first and last played in 2019 in Eritrea where 10 CECAFA members took part. Uganda beat Kenya 4-0 in the final to emerge victorious.
