Uganda Cricket Association holds successful PWD day

The Uganda Cricket Association ( UCA) held a successful 2021 International day of People With Disabilities.

This happened at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Friday where the PWD were celebrated and equipped with skills in playing the gentleman’s game by the Victoria Pearls and Cricket Cranes stars.

At the climax of the day, the PWD’s were divided into two teams (Beasts and Aces ) and played against each other.

The beasts with the stewardship of Ali Waqar won the game by 9 wickets.

Waqar, player of the match, made 34 runs off 14 balls and picked two wickets to help the beasts to a well deserved victory over Aces.

Aces lost the coin toss and were tasked to bat first, managing only 51 runs in 10 overs but the beasts bettered that in just 6 overs.

The beasts got winner medals and a trophy which were handed to them by the Youth Minister of Youth Phiona Nyamutoro and Kampala Lord Councilor Allan Mwesige.
