The date and venue for the 2026 Stanbic Uganda Cup final have officially been confirmed, with FUFA Stadium, Kadiba set to host the showpiece event on Saturday, May 30.

The highly anticipated final will see Uganda Premier League sides SC Villa and Kitara FC battle for the prestigious domestic trophy in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

FUFA Stadium, Kadiba will host the Uganda Cup final for the second consecutive year after staging the 2025 edition where Vipers SC defeated KCCA FC 2-0 to lift the trophy. The modern facility has steadily grown into one of Uganda’s key football venues and continues to play an important role in the development of the local game.

Both finalists booked their places in the final after impressive semi-final performances. SC Villa secured a dominant 3-0 aggregate victory over URA FC, while Kitara FC eliminated reigning champions Vipers SC on the away goals rule following a goalless draw in Hoima and a 1-1 draw in Kitende.

For both clubs, the Uganda Cup presents their final opportunity to end the 2025/26 season with silverware after Vipers SC were crowned Uganda Premier League champions on Matchday 29.

SC Villa will head into the final aiming to extend their rich history in the competition. The Jogoos are nine-time Uganda Cup winners and are chasing their first title in 11 years since defeating KCCA FC 3-0 in a replayed 2015 final at Nakivubo Stadium.

Victory for SC Villa would see them move level with KCCA FC and Express FC as the joint most successful clubs in Uganda Cup history with 10 titles each.

Kitara FC, meanwhile, will be seeking their second Uganda Cup crown after lifting their maiden title in 2024. The Royals have continued to establish themselves as one of the rising forces in Ugandan football and will be hoping to cap off another impressive cup campaign with silverware.

With the final set to be played at a venue where SC Villa hosts its league matches, the record champions could enjoy a slight familiarity advantage heading into the encounter, although Kitara FC have already shown their ability to compete against the country’s top sides throughout the tournament.
