The Uganda Boxing Champions League is set to return this Saturday 16th December 2023 at the NCS Arena in Lugogo.
The stage will hold final bouts of the immediate competition that started on Monday and second last week (17) bouts of the highly regarded Uganda Boxing competition.
Week 17 action will be headlined by featherweight 57kgz contest between Khassim Mulungi of City High School and Mbazira Eliphaz from Nakawa Boxing Club.
At the weigh ins held at the Uganda Olympic Committee offices on Friday, Bomber and former Gold medalist of the National Open, Khassim Mulungi;
“Am going to be in the main fight, with Mbaziira who I beat in the National Open and this is going to be our second meeting in the ring.” he said
“This Saturday am going to play in preparation for my final day bout against Jonah Kyobe on 26th December (Boxing day).” Mulungi concluded
For Mbaziira, he came out to say that he has put right all his mistakes;
“As a silver medalist in the National Open, am going to play Mulungi who taught me something new in that final but I promise to win Saturday’s fight”
“In our previous fight, I made many mistakes that have put right this time round with help of his recorded fights with Kyobe and Derrick Mubiru, tomorrow expect only a win” he concluded.
In a fight day that is dominated by the Ladies, a number of fights will be played after the immediate finals.
With the competition coming to an end to its Climax, it continues attract more and more fans into the Arena.
Fans will buy an ordinary ticket at 10k and 20k at the entrance, VIP will go for 50k and VVIP, 100k.
