Enduro Uganda club and the Federation of Motorsport clubs in Uganda (FMU) joined hands with the Uganda Bikers Association to organise an Autocross Challenge in an act to remember the late Hon. Jacob Oulanyah who was family.
This was put out in a press briefing held on a rainy Tuesday morning at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala.
The race was dubbed Jacob Oulanyah Memorial Autocross and Enduro Challenge and will take place in Omoro starting on Saturday, 25th March and end on Sunday, 26th March.
Angela Seemukuutu, the Uganda Bikers Association president came forward to put the program out there and said the bunch will depart Kampala on Friday 24th and head to Gulu city, ( a journey the Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Hon. Norbert Mao says the late rode for 2 hours on his first 600CC bike to Gulu) and all this will be a campaign to hold safety awareness.
After getting into Gulu, there will be a memorial service to be held before the Autocross riding at Oulanyah’s home in Omoro and later the lot will return to Kampala on Sunday evening.
The former speaker of the parliament of Uganda passed on in 2022, 20th March and was laid to rest at his father’s home in Omoro.
Away from the very serious gentleman many saw, he was a pure lover and member of the Uganda Bikers Association spearheading a couple of safety awareness campaigns for the Bikers in Uganda.
