Transfers: Express set to complete signing of former Vipers’ winger

Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Express FC is set to complete the capture of former Vipers SC winger Allan Kayiwa, Touchline Sports sources can understand.

Kayiwa has been a free agent since his contract with the venoms ran down at the end of last season.

Express is expected to beat off competition from URA and KCCA,who also expressed interest in the player a few weeks ago.

The skillful winger who was occasionally deployed as a right back for the venoms last season, joined Vipers in 2019 from Tooro United FC.

He was part of the Cranes team that represented Uganda at the COSAFA 2019 tournament in Durban South Africa.

He will join and Express team that is in rebuilding process having lost several senior players this window that include Murushid Juuko, John Byamukama, Mahad Yaya Kakooza, Deus Bukenya, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Sadiq Ssekyembe and Eric Kambale.

The Red Eagles have so far signed Benjamin Gakumba, David Lukwago, Hassan Mubiru, Marvin Oshaba, Kada Bitakazibwa, Andrew Kaggwa, Anwar Mustafa Ntege and Yusuf Ssozi.

They will be coached by James Odoch, who was recently handed a permanent contract at the club having served on interim basis last season after the departure of Wasswa Bbosa.
