Uganda bounced back from their opening defeat to secure a commanding seven-wicket victory over Namibia A in the second T20 at the High Performance Oval, leveling the five-match series 1-1.
Head coach Steve Tikolo lauded the team’s response, highlighting significant improvements with both bat and ball.
Uganda’s bowlers set the tone early, with Kenneth Waiswa (2/22) and Henry Ssenyondo (3/21) leading a disciplined effort to restrict Namibia A to 137 for 7.
In reply, Gerald Olipa (39) laid the foundation before captain Riazat Ali Shah anchored the chase with an unbeaten 46, guiding Uganda home in 18 overs.
“We learnt a lot from our shortcomings yesterday,” Tikolo said. “The bowlers were incisive, and the batters especially the top order set it up well. The captain was there at the end to seal it.”
Uganda will look to carry this momentum into the third T20 as they push to take the lead in the series.
