Express FC continued to protect the unbeaten run as they exercised out a barren draw against Wakiso Giants at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso on Friday evening.
This was a Matchday seven rescheduled that had lots of chances flying left, right, centre on both sides.
Seven minutes into the game, Hassan Ssenyonjo persistently dribbled past Express players through the middle towards goal but was intercepted by Express FC goal keeper Abdul Kimera who came off the line.
Six minutes later Alpha Thierry Ssali cut in from the left only to take a shot onto Bashir Bravo Ssekagya’s goal only to calmly pick up the ball.
Express continued to attack but failed to convert after 19 minutes after Oshaaba failing to convert from a Isma Kawawolo well delivered cross from the left.
With a minute left to the half time, Kimera was once again the hero, saving a thunderous shot at the edge of the box from Wakiso Giants Captain Hassan Ssenyonjo after a good pass from Titus Ssematimba.
Ten minutes after restart, Marvin Mukiibi shot a ball in the box from a lose ball for the home side but went wide.
With fifteen minutes left on the clock Kawooya with an open chance after a blocked cross by Willa but all came to nothing.
This result moves Wakiso Giants from the 15th to 14th above KCCA FC by one point as The “Mukwano gwabangi” are on 12 points in the 5th position with one game in hand.
The six time Uganda Premier League champions remain the only unbeaten team in the league this season with 6 points separating them from the table leaders, BUL FC.
Wakiso Giants will take a short trip to Lugogo to play NEC on 25th November while Express FC will host Maroons on the same day at the Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku.
