Having being winless in Arua, Vipers came into the game with just one mission, breaking that record by beating Onduparaka at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium so as to retain grip atop of the StarTimes Uganda Premier league log.
And they did will ease after goals from Ibrahim Orit, Cesar Manzoki and Paul Mucurezi earned them a precious 3-1 victory over the Caterpillars on Saturday afternoon.
The home side, Onduparaka started the heated encounter the brightest side but were unable any considerable amount of threat to the Vipers backline.
But it’s was the Venoms that broke the deadlock in the the 26th minute after Ibrahim Orit headed in a well crafted Disan Galiwango corner kick to hand Vipers their first goal at the Greenlight Stadium, Arua and a well deserved halftime lead.
With just 7 minutes into the second half, Vipers head coach Fred Kajoba introduced on club topscorer Paul Mucurezi for red carded Mohammad Shaban and it never took Mucurezi as he dribbled past two Onduparaka defenders to shot hard and low towards the goal, only for the Onduparaka goalie Kagiri saved his shot but parried the ball back into play for Manzoki to rebound into the empty net.
Two minutes afterwards, Paul Mucurezi got his name on the scoresheet after a rebound from a Manzoki header following an excellent Disan Galiwango cross from the left.
Just before the death of the game, Onduparaka pulled a goal back through Kabon Living from the spot but it was too late to cause any last drama
