The venue of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match-day fixture between Gaddafi FC and Busoga United has been changed.
The Eastern derby was intially set to be played at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe but now it will be played at the Gaddafi Arena Stadium.
The Gaddafi Stadium was earlier on turned down by the FUFA Licensing Committee as it failed to meet the minimum Licensing requirements, but now it has been approved by the Federation to host Uganda Premier League games.
The match has also been moved from Sunday, October 17th to Monday, October 18th after a request from the league broadcasters, StarTimes.
It’s likely to be aired live on Sanyuka TV.
The UPL Secretariat is in receipt of a communication from FUFA indicating that following the re-inspection by the club licensing committee, Gaddafi Arena Stadium (earlier submitted by Gaddafi FC as their home ground) has been approved to host SUPL matches. Accordingly, match #06 Gaddafi FC vs Busoga United FC has been moved from Kyabazinga Stadium-Bugembe to Gaddafi Arena, Jinja City and from Sunday 17th October 2021, 3:00pm to Monday 18th October 2021, 4:00pm upon the broadcaster’s request.”
The 2021/22 SUPL league gets underway on Friday evening with three fixtures. Express will take on Arua Hill, Mbarara City hots Bright Stars while Onduparaka welcomes UPDF.
