Forward Ben Ocen netted a brace as his side, Police FC walloped bottom-placed Kitara FC 4-1 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier league games at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.
Ocen netted his two goals in the first five minutes of the game as Police were rampant in the first half.
With three minutes on the clock, Ocen reacted onto his own rebound to net his first of the game before moments later, he added his second after a wonderful pass by Frank Tumwesigye to round off Ivan Akera in the Kitara goal and slot the ball into an empty net.
The Cops continued to dominate proceedings and in the 19th minute, Tumwesigye turned from assistor to goal scorer when he rose high to nod in a well driven Muwadda Mawejje cross
And it was four before halftime after Fahad Kizito was fouled outside the area, Hassan Mahmood took responsibility and fired in his deflected freekick into the back of the net .
After the return from recess, Kitara pulled a goal back through Patrick Kusemererwa who notched in from close range following a Yubu Bogere’s low drive.
Police wasted countless chances to add on their advantage on the day after Derrick Kakooza, Muwadda and Duncan Sseninde all failed to get their names on the scoresheet.
With the win, Police move back to 4th spot on the log and now have 34 points, one point ahead of KCCA who face a tricky visit to Mbarara City on Wednesday
While Kitara stay bottom of the log with just five points garnered in 19 games.
