Startimes UPL: Top meets bottom as Onduparaka continues search for a victory

0

Onduparaka continue search for their first victory of the season as they host on-form Wakiso Giants in the Startimes Uganda Premier League at the Bombo Military on Wednesday.

The West Nile side has struggled to collect points this season drawing thrice and losing four times with a punishment of two goals and two points being docked off them due to inappropriate sporting behavior.

This has left them laying at the bottom of the table with just one point. They are facing a lot of problems this season among them being playing football on neutral ground without their fans.

But with everything not going their way, they will hope to surprise the majority of people with a very positive result that will help them close the gap on 14th placed UPDF on the Log.

The Caterpillars will put their hope in Dominic Abonga, Emmanuel Okech and Rashid Okocha for goals.

On the side of Wakiso Giants, they will hope to continue their splendid form of results that have put them on top of the pile.

A picture moment for the first 11 against Gaddafi FC before the match.

The Purple Sharks lay top of Log with 17 points in 8 games after winning five games, drawing twice and losing the other.

In their last five games, they have won four games and drawn only once something that potrays their form this season with help of all their players even when they were without Titus Ssematimba who was their top man last season.

Goalkeeper Samson Kirya and Owen Kasule have been the men of top form with absolute consistency this season. Kirya coming up with a couple of saves most notably in the recent games against SC Villa and Gaddafi FC.

For Owen Kasule, he has been known for putting in great performances which include assists but has added goals to the mix and he will be a threat to that Onduparaka defense.

Last game.

Onduparaka handed Bright stars the first win of the season at home turf as they lost 2-1 while Wakiso Giants hosted Gaddafi FC only to beat them 2-0.

What would a win do?

A win will help Onduparaka who are bottom close the gap on 14th placed Black’s Power. For Wakiso it will stretch their lead at the top to 6 points.
