SC Villa started their life in Lira with a lucksture 3-0 defeat to Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club ( KCCA FC) on Friday evening.
All the Kasasiro Boys goals were scored in the opening half by Gift Fred ( OG), Mohammad Ssenonga and Moses Waiswa at the Aki Bua Memorial Stadium.
KCCA started off the match brightly and were brilliant in the opening half as they found the back of net three times in the opening 45 minutes.
As early as the 4th minute, the Kasasiro Boys surprisingly broke the deadlock through Gift Fred’s horror own-goal after a teasing Rogers Mato cross. The Villa skipper agonizingly headed past Meddie Kibiringe into his own net.
After this goal, the game went into an 11-minute temporary break inorder to enable a few fans and officials who had earlier entered the Aki Bua Memorial Stadium to exit it. This was made in accordance of FUFA’s ruling which required the Jogoos to play their next five home games behind closed doors.
After that issue was solved, the game resumed and KCCA continued to dominate proceedings.
After imposing multiple pressures on the Villa backline, the Kasasiro Boys eventually doubled their lead in the 32nd minute through Muhammad Ssenonga, who easily dribbled past his marker to shot past Kibiringe.
It was 3-0 for KCCA FC few minutes as Moses Waiswa caught Kibiringe unaware to put his freekick into the back of net to add more misery to SC Villa before the break.
The Jogoos best goalscoring chance in the opening half fell to Charles Bbale, but the forward skied his effort wide after being found unmarked in the box by Patrick Jonah Kakande.
Despite improvement in the closing half, the hosts failed to break down a resilient KCCA side and thus suffered horrific defeat in Lira
Victory sends KCCA to third position on the log with 16 points in Eight games while defeat means Villa drops to 6th position on the log with 14 points.
