Fred Amaku scored the only goal for Maroons FC as they defeated KCCA in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League game played on Friday evening.
Amaku’s goal came in the second half to help the Prison side overcome the Kasasiro Boys in Luzira.
KCCA was the better side of the game and created a couple of chances to break the deadlock before Maroons scored.
Allan Okello was denied by Simon Tamale before forward Kankonde Tshisungu missed a penalty after an handball in the Maroon’s box by hitting the woodwork.
Maroons next goalscoring chance of the opening half fell to Abraham Tusubira, who had a freekick kept out by Benjamin Ochan.
The game went into the break goalless and just four minutes off the hour mark, Maroons took the lead through Fred Amaku who beat off his marker to chip over the on-rushing Ochan and into the back of the net.
KCCA tried to level matters late on in the game but Denis Iguma and Julius Poloto fired blanks.
KCCA have now lost two games in the league and currently sits eight on the log with 6 points in four games.
With the victory, Maroons moves to third spot on the log with 8 points in five games.
KCCA play Blacks Power next while Maroons battle Vipers SC.
