Stanbic Uganda Cup recap: Vipers beats Busoga United, Police whitewash Calvary – all the round of 32 first leg tie

Uganda Cup - first leg results

The Stanbic Uganda Cup got underway on Easter Monday with the first leg of the round of 32 games. Vipers SC, Police, BUL and Ndejje University will all head into their second leg ties with an edge over their opponents.

In Wakiso, Vipers SC beat Busoga United 3-0 in a game that was played at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. Congolese striker, Cesar Manzoki Lobi netted a brace while Ibrahim Orit added the other to give the Venoms a considerable advantage ahead of the second leg on Friday away in Njeru.

In Kampala, Abdallah Mubiru’s Police FC whitewashed FUFA Big league side Calvary 5-0 at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo. Brian Muluuli, Frank Tumwesige Zaga, Hassan Mahmood, Johnson Odongo and Ben Ocen were all on target for the Cops.

In Mbarara at the Kakyeka Stadium, Tiles and Terrazo rallied from behind to force a 1-1 draw with Maroons FC with each side missing a spot-kick in the process.

At the Kavumba Recreation Center, Tom Matsiko scored the all-important two goals as Wakiso Giants came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 victory over Water FC. Kiibi William had netted for Water FC in the 32nd minute.

In Bukedea, Simon Peter Oketch and Deogracious Ojok netted goals in the first half as their side, BUL FC secured an away 2-0 victory over Black Power at the Emokori Stadium.

In Bombo, a Brian Ssali first-half goal was enough for Ndejje University to shock SC Villa 1-0 at the Bombo Military playground.

In Arua at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium, Onduparaka FC and Luwero United played out to a goalless draw.

The successful winner of each fixture over the two legs (on aggregate) will qualify for the round of 16.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup action continues tomorrow on Tuesday evening with six fixtures on the card.
