Stanbic Uganda Cup recap: Proline thrash MYDA at Lugogo, URA draws Mbarara City in Ndejje

The first leg round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup ties continued on Tuesday evening with 5 fixtures. Proline, Kataka, Gadaffi secured home wins while URA drew with Mbarara in an all StarTimes UPL tie.

Starting off in Lugogo, FUFA Big league side and defending champions, Proline thrashed UPL outfits MYDA 4-1 at the MTN Omondi Stadium.

Hakim Kiwanuka, Brian Omony, Diego Hamis Kizza and youngster Alpha Saali Thierry netted the four goals to ensure the Anthony Bongole’s side head into the second leg with a commanding advantage.

At the Ndejje University, URA FC and Mbarara City played out to a goal less  statement at the Arena of the Visions.

In Jinja, A Joel Madondo first half penalty was enough to propel his side, Gadaffi FC to a 1-0 victory over fellow Big league side, Mbale at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe.

In Jinja, Express rallied from behind twice to secure a 2-all against Kyetume FC at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Ezira Kaye broke the deadlock for the Slaughterers in the 6th minute but his goal was cancelled out six minutes afterward by John Byamukama with a beautiful shot.

Kyetume once again retook the lead at the hour mark through Raymond Walugembe but Eric Kambale levelled matters in the 76th minute to ensure the game ended in a stalemate

At the Mbale Municipal Stadium, Kataka FC secured an important 1-0 victory over Tooro United.

The game between Kitara FC and Kigezi HomeBoys which was scheduled to be played on Tuesday evening never took place due to miss communication on the match venue. The home side, Kitara was at the Masindi Stadium while Kigezi was at Kavumba Recreation Center, Wakiso at the time of kickoff.

Action will resume on Wednesday evening with the rest of the first leg round of 32 fixtures.
