The 2020/21 Stanbic Uganda Cup will get underway on Monday evening (Easter Monday) with seven round of 32 first leg ties on the menu.
SC Villa will start their action at the Bombo Military playground when they host FUFA Big league’s Ndejje University. SC Villa will hope for a good start to enlighten their bid for a tenth Uganda Cup title, while Ndejje University is in search of their first title. Defender Geofrey Wasswa could make his debut at SC Villa in this game.
In Wakiso, SC Viper will host Busoga United at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. This will be the second meeting between these two sides as the Venoms defeated the Jinja based side 5-3 earlier in the season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Abdallah Mubiru’s coached Police host Yumbe based FUFA Big League side Calvary at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Mbarara based Terrazo and Tiles will face Maroons at Kakyeeka stadium, Onduparaka shall be home to Luweero United at the Aba Bet GreenLight Stadium in Arua.
Water hosts Wakiso Giants at Kavumba Recreational Stadium and Blacks Power will face BUL at the Emokori Stadium in Bukedea.
In Arua, UPL side, Onduparaka will host Luwero United at the AbaBet Greenlight Stadium, Arua.
The successful winner of each fixture over the two legs (on aggregate) will qualify to the round of 16 stage.
The winner of the competition represents Uganda at the CAF Confederation Cup, the second most prestigious tournament in African club football.
Proline are the defending champions having won the 2018/19 championship when they beat Bright Stars FC in shootouts in a final held at Masaka Recreation ground.
