SC Villa have completed the signing of midfielder Steven “Pivot” Mugisha ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.

The 2006-born midfielder joins the record Ugandan champions on a four-year contract after an impressive spell with Bulemeezi Ssaza, where he captained the side during the Buganda Masaza Cup.

Mugisha, who previously featured for Kira United, is expected to strengthen Villa’s midfield with his defensive discipline, leadership, composure in possession, and ability to dictate play from deep. His aerial presence and tactical awareness also make him a valuable addition to the Jogoos’ squad.

Speaking after sealing the move, Mugisha expressed his delight at joining the club.

“It is a dream come true to join SC Villa. This is a club with a rich history, passionate supporters, and a winning culture. I am ready to give my all for the badge and help the team achieve its objectives,” he said.

Mugisha becomes the latest addition to SC Villa’s squad as preparations for the 2026/27 campaign continue. He joins fellow new signings Isaac Gumperom and John Assiimwe as the 17-time Uganda Premier League champions continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
