Sarah Opendi: State Minister extends support to MYDA FC

State Minister for Energy in charge of Mineral Development, Sarah Opendi on Sunday extended support to Malaba Youth Development Association (MYDA) Football Club ahead of the 2020/21 StarTimes UPL season.

In a meeting held at Malaba Resort Hotel, the Honorable Minister, who is also the club patron handed cash worth three million Uganda shillings (UGX 3m) to MYDA FC through the club CEO, Muwaguzi Hannington, and promised to support the club get good deals with some big companies.

“As a patron, am going to work hard and hand in hand with the club to see that we as MYDA FC we get good deals with big companies for sponsorship,” Hon. Opendi promised.

“I will also make sure that football in Tororo and Eastern Uganda rises to greater heights than before and also help the younger talents in the area develop,” She added.

MYDA was promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after finishing top of the Elgon group of the FUFA Big league when the league was prematurely halted last season due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
