Rwanda Women National team 30-women provisional squad named in preparation of the 2022 CECAFA Women Championship.

Rwanda women’s head coach Sosthenes Habimana has named a provisional squad that will get into camp to get ready for the 2022 CECAFA Women Championships which begins on 1st June in Uganda, Jinja.

Habimana named a 30-woman provisional squad on Friday 20th May 2022 ahead of their departure of CECAFA tournament as soon as they read out the final squad.

Habimana who was an assistant to Grace  Nyinawumuntu in 2016 CECAFA Women Championship is going to be assisted by Shabani Mbarushimana, Consolee Mukashema and goalkeeper’s coach Jean Maniraguha.

The tournament starts on 1st June and will be played till 13th June at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru with two games running per day.

Rwanda is drawn in Group A along with Uganda, Burundi and Djibouti.

In their first game, they will battle hosts Uganda on Wednesday, June 1st, before taking on Burundi on Friday 3rd and Djibouti in the last group game looking to register maximum points to finish on top of the group in order to advance to the knock out stages.

Rwanda Women’s team last played in a CECAFA tournament game in 2018 that they hosted and finished 5th.
