Progressive SS turn up for schools games in beast mode

Progressive SS turned up for the second edition of Uganda badminton league schools games that shuttled on Saturday 6th of April in beast mode at Lugogo indoor Arena.

The Kitintale side who have made this edition more competitive tieing on points with the leaders in both the boys and Girls category will hope to take it to the wire as they fight better to over throw Mbogo in the girls as they continue to go head to head with Kinawa high in the boys.

This year’s schools category attracted 9 girls secondary schools, 7 boys secondary schools and 3 primary schools.

Some of the new schools in this year’s edition include; Nawandala SS from Iganga, St Michael international, Gayaza high school, st Catherine primary school, Green Valley primary school, Progressive ss among others.

Having played the opening games of the season, they will back in the action on 20th of this same month where they will be playing their with Kangululu memorial and the 2023 defending championships in secondary schools boy (Kibuli) who never played played their opening games will be playing their games on 20th of this month.

On the same day the Super League and Corporate will also be starting their second edition of the Uganda badminton league

Mbogo high school who were named the champions in the girls’ secondary schools last year started this season victorious after defeating Mwesigwa Elizabeth’s Nawandala sss 7-0 and progressive ss 7-0.

Nakiyemba Nazifah the captain of Mbogo high schools says they came into this second edition  not only to defend their title but also to win with an unbeaten run.

”The league having registered new schools does not put pressure on us and we no are still stronger than them” she said

Gayaza high school lost to Kinawa high school Mugogo 3-4

Kinawa high school Mugongo lost to progressive ss 1-6

Mbogo defeated progressive ss 7-0

Gayaza high school got her win against Nawandala sss 6-1

Schools’ league (boys)

Kinawa high school- kawempe defeated Progressive ss 7-0

Nawandala sss lost to Progressive ss 1-6

Primary schools’ league

St catherine primary school lost to Green Valley primary school 2-5

2. Progressive secondary school- 2 points

Kinawa high school Mugongo, St Michael international, kakungulu, Kibuli ss all have no point.

Green valley primary school- 2 points

Seeta primary school and St Catherine primary school have no point.

In the previous edition Mbogo high school were named the winners on the girls side whereas Kibuli ss won the boys’ category.

In Super league it was Ndejje University While CFK corporate won the the Corporate league
