Bright Stars duo of Baker Mbowa and Samuel Ssekamate Kayongo has been named coach and Player of the month of April respectively at the event held on Monday morning at Kati Kati Restaurant, Lugogo.
Mbowa beat off competition from the outspoken Vipers SC’s gaffer Fred Kajoba for the coach of the month gong.
Mbowa guided Bright Stars to five wins in six games, drawing against table leaders URA FC in that month and collected the long-awaited win for the Mwererwe side at Lugogo in the same month. He collected 16 points out of the possible 18.
In the players’ category, Samuel Ssekamate Kayongo beat off competition from Police’s Ben Ocen as he netted six goals in six games played in April.
While his competitor Ocen had five goals in six games.
Both Mbowa and Ssekamate walked away with a token of 1 million shillings each.
