The two teams agreed a one year loan deal for the 22 year old and announced his return on Wednesday evening.
Okello, comes back as an improved player physically and with more football knowledge to what he left with but all these will have to be witnessed by the KCCA FC fans who hold the academy graduate in high regard.
The skipper comes back to Lugogo, in a KCCA midfield with new faces to what he left in 2020. The new faces in midfield Okello finds are Ashiraf Mugume, Emanuel Wasswa and new recruits Moses Waiswa, Saidi Mayanja, Andrew Kawooya, Usama Arafat and Muhammad Ssenoga.
KCCA FC who have made twelve (12) signings in this summer transfer window are hoping to improve their competitiveness in the League and at most take the trophy after finishing second on the Log last season, 18 points behind the Champions Vipers SC.
KCCA’s main problem last season was scoring goals going on to put up a 20 goal difference in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign. The Kasasiro boys lacked cutting edge in the final third, missing a number of high-quality chances.
However, Byekwaso’s squad also lacked a consistent creator from midfield outside of Ashraf Mugume, with most of the creativity coming from the wings and a bit of long balls from the backline. Accumulating just over an estimated 63xG (expected goals), 30 less than winners Vipers.
What Allan Okello will bring to this KCCA FC side?
The new loan signing Okello is expected to certainly address this when you consider his elite playmaking abilities. The young playmaker netted 39 goals in 112 appearances and provided a whopping 16 assists across all competitions in his last stinct at Lugogo, numbers that reads even more impressive when you consider that he was still a teenager then.
Okello is predominantly an attacking midfielder, with the capability to play as a number ten, as an attacking no.8 in a midfield three of five.
He can unlock defences with precise passing whilst also never shying away though his weakness would lie in doing his defensive duties.
But he will be expected to bring out the A game of his former team mate Muhammad Shaban and another returnee Daniel Isiagi.
