Vipers SC confirm young Congolese forward as final off-season acquisition

StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions Vipers SC have confirmed the acquisition of Congolese young forward Rodrigue Shamamba.

Shamamba, who becomes the Venom’s final acquisition this off-season has put pen to paper on a four-year employment contract until at least 2026.

He joins the Venoms from Democratic Republic of Congo side, Goal Academy.

“I am happy to be joining Vipers SC, it’s one of the best clubs in the region and I hope to help the team achieve its goals,” Shamamba told Vipers Media after putting pen to paper.

“I’m an attacker and I will work hard to use my individual qualities to help the team go forward,” He added.

The 18-year old is expected to compete for a starting spot with Cromwell Rwothomio, Abubakar Lawal and Yunus Sentamu next season.

He also becomes the Venom’s 10th new addition this window after Alfred Mudekereza, Olivier Osomba, Ashraf Mandela, Isa Mubiru, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Murushid Juuko, Lumala, Lawal and Rwothomio.

Vipers will start their SUPL 2022/23 campaign against Soltilo Bright Stars on September 30th.
