NRC: Rukaari-Lake Mburo rally to honour the late Muhangi.

National Rally Championship (NRC) season gets underway with the first rally dubbed “Rukaari-Lake Mburo Rally” organized by the Mbarara Motor Club (MMC) to be held from the 14th – 16th of February 2020 in Mbarara.

The Mbarara Rally organizers have put two sections in remembrance of the late Charles Muhangi. The Charles Muhangi section of 30.15 km is to honor him for his services as a club patron at Mbarara Motor Club.

The Ekitagururo section of 44.7km is named after Muhangi’s car which he used when clinching the African Rally Championship (ARC). Charles Muhangi is the only Ugandan to lift the ARC tittle.

There will be a super special stage circuit held at Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari’s place. Rukaari is the title sponsor for the 2020 Mbarara Rally.

I have followed rally since I was 12 and when I was approached by Mbarara Motor Club to host a circuit, I had no objection than to open up my property for this Noble cause.”

Said Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari.

This I believe will benefit the district and locals in terms since we will be opening our doors to several visitors who will definitely spend on lodging, food, entertainment.”

Added the title sponsor Rukaari.

The fans will have to pay a fee of 10,000shs, 50,000shs and 100,000shs for the circuit.

The circuit will now be a main stay on the Mbarara Rally event.

The Rukaari-Lake Mburo rally has a total of six sections. It will begin with the scruteneering on Friday 14th and rallying Day 1 will come on Saturday 15th with Day 2 coming on Sunday 16th.
