New dawn for Futsal and FUFA Drum as betPawa – FUFA Announce Monumental Partnership

Mchezo Limited, owners of betPawa Uganda announced their patnership with Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) on Wednesday 6th September 2023 at the Fairway Hotel in Kampala, Uganda.

The partnership will be worth Ushs 1.18billion($320,000) with intent of sharing commitment to nurture local talent, enrich the fan experience, and uplift football standards all around the country.

It will run for a period one year with the focus put on the three sponsored properties for the FUFA 23/24 season FUFA Drum, the betPawa BIG League, the betPawa Futsal League.

betPawa will develop football infrastructure that benefits local communities and will take up Title Sponsorship of Futsal and the Big League inorder to create an end-to-end football development pathway. 

Speaking to the Press at Fairway Hotel, the Managing Director at Mchezo Africa Ntoudi Mouyelo, expressed his excitement stating, 

“I have been really impressed on how organized FUFA, this is not a sponsorship nor Patnership but Marriage and to get to that stage it means you have gone is alot.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with FUFA in accelerating the growth of Ugandan football.”

Adding that;”This partnership is a significant investment in our local players and teams, and together, we can enhance the experience for fans and players alike. We are creating more opportunities for all those involved in Ugandan football.”

Mouyelo also promised that betPawa will bolster the existing fan bases and also expand their reach nationwide, and also motivate the different players with the Locker Room Bonus clarifying that;

“Under this partnership we are introducing the Locker Room Bonus which offers players fast and direct benefits.”

“The players who make the squad list per match will get cash tokens of ushs 150,000 sent to their phones after the game if their team wins.” He added

“ We are setting aside 25% of the value of this partnership towards this LRB,” he concluded 

On the side of the Football Federation, the President Engineer Moses Hashim Magogo labeled this patnership as a pivotal moment for Ugandan football;

“This as a pivotal moment for Ugandan football, more than just financial support and a  firm pledge to the future of our beloved sport.”

“It will nurture and cultivate more careers within Ugandan football and to motivate players with the Locker Room Bonus.” he concluded 

The Futsal Association of Uganda will celebrate this Patnership with atmost delight because since they never had a deal like this before despite grooming the most talents in the top division.

They are set achieve benefits like awards for Most Valuable Player of the season, Best goalkeeper, Best Coach, Player of the season, Most assists and Young Player of the season.

Similar award categories, supported by betPawa, will be given out in the Big League as well as an overall token for the league’s winning team which is among the four clubs that earn a promotion to the country’s top tier league at the end of each season.
