National Council of Sports have flagged off a team of seven Para-badminton to Pattaya, Thailand to take part in the NSDF Royal Cliff Beach BWF World Para- badminton championship in quest.
The tournament will toss off on Tuesday 20th February and climax on Sunday 25th February as the athletes continue to collect points that will help them qualify for the 2024 Para- Olympics.
However the travelling team has left without its Head coach Mark Ssekyondwa due to lack of enough funds.
The traveling team will be Captained by Ali Mukasa and assisted by Sarah Nazziwa.
Other players on the traveling team include Rita Asiimwe, Elizabeth Mwesigwa, Sumin Mutesi , Hassan Mubiru and Rose Nansereko.
Speaking to a determined Hassan Mubiru after the flag off ceremony, he came out to say that;
“We have been training well and hope to achieve more points in Thailand to enable us qualify for the Olympics”
