U-18 Girls Inter-Hub: Mukono Cricket Community unveil final squad for the tournament in Gulu

In a significant announcement, the Mukono Cricket Community has revealed the meticulously selected final 15 players set to represent them at the groundbreaking Under-18 Girls Inter-Hub Tournament in Gulu Scheduled to take place between January 24-28th 2023.

Team will be led by Captain Naula Hasifa with assistance from Nalumansi Resty, is gearing up for an exciting T20 format competition starting on January 25th at St. Joseph’s College Layibi.

The squad, carefully honed by a team of six dedicated coaches, has been diligently preparing at the Mukono District Headquarters playground.

Notably, the Development Manager of Uganda Cricket Association, Mr. Turinawe Davis, visited the hub last Wednesday, underscoring the significance of this inaugural tournament.

This tournament adopts a single-robin format, requiring the Mukono team to navigate through four group stage games before securing a spot in the finals.

The anticipation for riveting cricket action is heightened as the Mukono Cricket Community faces Soroti Cricket Academy 2 in their opening match at midday on 25th January.

The team is under the expert guidance of coach Maria Nyende Kagoya, supported by Ronald Puwata.

The players have also benefited from the expertise of Ndejjian Solomon Lubwama, popularly known as King Soso, contributing to the team’s skill enhancement and knowledge development.

With Ocala Lydia Hope serving as Team Manager, entrusted with overseeing all logistical aspects, and Mr. Kintu Simon leading the delegation, the team’s organizational structure is robust and it is expected to set off from Mukono to Gulu on 24th January 2023.

Sajjabi Ivan Cyprian, a distinguished writer at Touchline Sports, takes on the role of Media Manager, ensuring seamless communication with fans and followers.
