Mike Mutebi: URA are very serious title contenders this season

KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi has said that Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) FC are very serious title contenders this season.

This is after the tax collectors rallied from a goal down to subject KCCA FC to a second consecutive league loss after a 2-1 scoreline at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Brian Aheebwa’s strike for KCCA FC was cancelled out by Benjamin Nyakonjo before Shafiq Kagimu sealed the win for the tax collectors off a cut back from Joachim Ojera.

“URA is a very good team as they retained almost the whole team they used last season, and they added more 3-4 quality players,” Mutebi said after the match before adding;

“They are one of the teams to beat and surely strong title contenders this season.”

Furthermore, the KCCA FC tactician blamed his team’s loss to carelessness within his squad.

“They got five chances in the final third, scored 2 goals and missed a penalty and we got 6 chances and we converted only 1.”

“Our carelessness  helped URA to achieve that win for example, they capitalized on Achai’s carelessness to score a goal.”

“We played very well in midfield but we weren’t penetrative enough in the final third. Brian Aheebwa and Sam Ssenyonjo couldn’t keep our ball very well in the final third, so URA deserved to win.”

Mike Mutebi and KCCA FC’s next assignment is a CAF Confederation Cup first-round qualifier tie against AS Kigali due Wednesday, December 23rd in Kigali.
