MasazaCup2022: Buddu frustrated by the lack of luck in the opener

0

The 2022 edition of Masaza Cup tournament saw defending champions Buddu held to a goalless draw by neighbours Mawogola in a closely contested game at Masaka Recreation Ground.

Mawogora took the proceedings of the first stanza launching a couple of attacks toward Buddu’s four-man defence who took a solid stand.

The second half saw a rejuvenated Buddu side which looked more lively than they did in the first half with defender Arnold Odong hitting the woodwork from a well-calculated freekick near the edge of the box.

The home side and the favourites of the day continued to launch several attacks from forwards John Mary Bukenya and Bruno Bunyanga but all their efforts were futile.

The introduction of winger Dennis Kalanzi for the Steve Bogere-coached side saw them pile more pressure on the visitors but the three-man defence partnership of Nassif Kamulegeya, Ivan Nangoli, and Daniel Bakaki was well composed on the evening.

The games will continue on 2nd July 2022 with four fixtures.
