Masaza Cup: Busiro rally from behind to overcome Busujju

Masaza Cup - Busiro, Busujju

Busiro Ssaza football team rallied from a goal behind to overcome a resilient Busujju 2-1 on matchday two of the Bulange group at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Hamza Kalinwamu cancelled out Shafik Kakande’s opener before Usama Arafat got the winner.

Busujju started the game the brightest side and were paid for their hard work going forward against the Busiro backline in the 35th minute when Kakande Shafik converted from the spot to give his side the lead.

Busiro returned for the second half a better side and levelled matters in the 53rd minute after a lethal tap-in from close range by  Kalinwamu off a Gerald Ogweti’s cross from the left.

A few minutes later, Usama propelled Busiro into a lead when he netted his third goal of the tournament in 57th minute, heading past goalie Henry Kalule off a well-calculated Mumbere Dest cross.

Busujju had to finish the match a man less after captain Michael Ssimbwa was shown marching orders by referee Anna Akoyi for a second bookable offence.

Busiro now cement their lead at the top of Bulange group, having garnered maximum points in their opening two games.
