Maroons Players and Staff Earn Promotions in Uganda Prisons Service

Several players and technical staff attached to StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Maroons FC have been promoted within the ranks of the Uganda Prisons Service, in recognition of their discipline, professionalism, and commitment both on and off the football pitch.

The promotions, officially announced by the Uganda Prisons Service, highlight the institution’s continued emphasis on rewarding merit, discipline, and service delivery among its officers, including those actively engaged in sport.

Among those elevated in rank are assistant coach Muhammad Senfuma, fitness coach Maxwell Okello, goalkeeping coach Ken Rogers Tezigwa, team captain Edward Kabona, defender Godwin Kitagenda, midfielder Ronald Orombi, academy head coach James Cemari, and media officer Sam Ochola, among others.

According to the Uganda Prisons Service, such promotions are guided by strict criteria, including professional conduct, adherence to service regulations, and availability of vacancies within the institution.

The promoted officers were commended for maintaining high levels of discipline while balancing their responsibilities as both public servants and football stakeholders representing Maroons FC in the Uganda Premier League.

Maroons FC, one of Uganda’s long-standing institutional football clubs, continues to play a key role in nurturing talent while upholding the values of discipline and professionalism that define its parent institution.

Team Captain Edward Kabona 

On the pitch, the Prisons side currently sits ninth on the Uganda Premier League table with 34 points after 27 matches played this season.
