Crested Cranes goalkeeper Vanessa Edith Karungi has been named the first team captain at Danish outfit Boldklubben af 1893 (B 93).
The Danish capital side’s shot stopper joined the club on a one-year loan deal in 2021 from She Corporate Football Club before the option of signing on a permanent basis was triggered.
It’s not new that Karungi was named captain in her young career since she was once captain at FUFA Women Super League outfit, She Corporate based in Nakawa.

Karungi 22, was recently named in the Uganda Crested Cranes that represented Uganda at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations in Morocco.
B 93 is based in Danish capital Copenhagen, playing in the Kvinde 1. division which is the second highest division of women’s football in Denmark.
Currently, the league is at a playoff stage with the top 6 teams from the Kvinde 1. division facing off and the top two at the end of a round robin format qualifying to the Elitedivisionen which is the top tier league.
She Corporate where Karungi has been playing had a big role in making sure the deal comes through and the club bid farewell to the shot stopper on Sunday with a party held at MUBS.
Karungi has played for three teams in her career in She Corporate(2016), Olila High School(2016-2018), She Corporate FC (2018-2021) again and currently B 93.
