Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has attributed the club’s impressive 2025/26 campaign to a renewed mentality, relentless hunger, and a stronger collective spirit within the squad.
Speaking during the Bundesliga’s Midweek Interviews, Musiala reflected on Bayern’s successful season, the influence of head coach Vincent Kompany, and the growth of several key teammates as the Bavarian giants prepare to close out another remarkable campaign.
Musiala, who has enjoyed one of his most productive Bundesliga seasons, described Bayern’s mentality as the defining factor behind the team’s consistency and attacking dominance.
I think it is just that we have that joy on the pitch, that hunger to keep attacking,” Musiala said. “Even when we are 1-0 or 2-0 up, we keep pushing for more.”
The German international also highlighted the team’s defensive commitment and collective work ethic, insisting that Bayern’s success this season has come from both attacking quality and discipline without the ball.
According to Musiala, much of that mentality shift has been driven by head coach Vincent Kompany, whose leadership and psychological approach have transformed the squad environment.
A lot of it is the mindset side of things,” Musiala explained. “The hunger for every little thing that we do, even the not-so-fun things, and trying to enjoy that as well.”
Musiala also praised Bayern’s attacking trio of Harry Kane, Luis Díaz, and Michael Olise, describing each player as crucial to the team’s success this season.
He singled out Díaz for his relentless energy and aggressive one-on-one play, while hailing Kane’s leadership qualities and goal-scoring consistency.
Harry is Harry,” Musiala said. “He has scored a lot of goals this season, he is one of the leaders, and you learn a lot from him.”
The Bayern midfielder reserved special praise for Michael Olise, whom he described as “one of the best players in the world this season” following the winger’s impressive development and attacking impact.
Musiala also spoke highly of emerging young talent Leonard Karl, comparing the youngster’s confidence to his own early breakthrough years at Bayern.
The confidence that he shows on the pitch is different from other young players,” Musiala noted. “He plays with the same confidence in games that he does in training.”
Away from club football, Musiala discussed the mental challenges associated with recovering from major injuries, particularly referencing teammate Alphonso Davies, who has endured a difficult year physically.
The Bayern playmaker emphasized the importance of patience, mental resilience, and learning during rehabilitation periods.
Coming back from big injuries, you have to do extra work,”
Musiala said.
Sometimes not talking about it is good as well because you already have all the questions in your head.”
Despite already enjoying domestic success, Musiala admitted Bayern remain highly motivated to secure the DFB-Pokal title and finish the season strongly.
It has been like six years since we won it,” he said. “To end the season on a really high note is definitely our motivation.”
Attention will also soon shift toward international football, with Musiala expected to play a central role for Germany national football team ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Although cautious about discussing tournament ambitions too early, the Bayern midfielder stressed the importance of maintaining team unity, positivity, and collective energy if Germany are to compete among the world’s elite once again.
Being a family on the pitch and off the pitch is definitely a key to reaching big goals,” Musiala said.
For Bayern supporters, Musiala’s comments reflect a squad that appears fully aligned under Kompany’s leadership — blending elite talent, youthful confidence, and a winning mentality as the club continues its pursuit of domestic and European success.
