0

Uganda Cricket Cranes campaign at the ICC Challenge League B tournament started off in a sad note after they lost their opener to Jersey by 63 runs.

Cricket Cranes, who won the toss and elected to bowl first failed to chase down the Jerseys 256/6 in 50 overs.

Nick Greenwood, who was the man of the match formed a lethal partnership with Harrison Carlyon (34) to put on an opening 74 runs for Jersey.

Carlyon got ejected but Greenwood continued his brilliant work as him and Josh Lawrenson (43) posted 97-runs.

After the first inning, jersey had gotten to 256/6 in their 50 overs and Uganda had to chase this down to secure the victory.

But they fell short despite having started well with their chase after Simon Ssesazi posted 50 off only 43.

Uganda lose their first game of this ICC Cricket Challenge League B tournament and will be back on Monday when they take on Hong Kong.

Uganda will need to finish top of the table to progress to final qualification round where they will meet top teams from other leagues.
