With a balanced season so far, SC Villa have had ups and downs just like any other team in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

But amidst all the triumphs and challenges, the Joogos had some strong characters that have helped in lifting up the spirits of the young players who are majority in the team.

One of this character has been the team’s captain Gift Fred who personally has had a couple of good displays this season.

With a with on the back of their heads, this time round he will lead a confident SC Villa side that will face Blacks Power in the Startimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday at the Aki Bua Stadium.

Since both teams host at the same stadium of late, this has been termed as a mini – Aki Bua Stadium derby by many and will prove who king at the Ground.

Talking to the Club media ahead of the fixture, Captain Gift Fred is absolutely sure that High focus, morale and determination will help his team grab a win in Lira;

Following our last game which was a win against Maroons, the team is all in high morale to continue the winning streak as we rely on the other fixture’s results and the team is all in high spirits.

We got a red card in our defense last time but it’s a wide team and everyone needs an opportunity. Ssemakula’s card might have caused havock but at least the team is more sorted with more defenders and I think there will be a person added to the defense.

With the positivity on the ground, it has helped us introduce more players on the ground and at least we shall make that cover.

High focus, morale and determination will help us keep the winning streak on, if at all discipline is kept all over the camp.

Environment in Lira is that cold, yesterday it rained and we atleast used, for the sunshine we can adhere..

SC Villa who won their last game against  Maroons sit 6th on the log with 17 points below Bright stars on goal difference with at hope that they can grab a victory over Blacks Power.

A win will take SC Villa, to fifth position, level on points with Vipers but low on goal difference.
