Hannington Sebwalunyo: goalkeeper returns to URA

Uganda Premier League side URA FC has confirmed that goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo has returned to the Tax Collectors.

This was confirmed on Thursday evening after the goalkeeper’s loan spell at BUL was cut short.

“URA FC can confirm that goalkeeper Hannington Sebwalunyo has been recalled from his proposed loan spell with Jinja side Bidco Uganda Limited (BUL) Football Club.” Read part of the statement.

The reason why Sebwalunyo has been recalled is that Nathian Alionzi, one of the URA’s custodians sustained an injury that will keep him out of action for some time.

Sebwalunyo was unveiled as BUL new signing last month, joining the club on a one-year loan move from URA.

He had a brilliant season with the Tax Collectors last season, keeping six assists in 12 games in all competitions and helped the club qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ssebwalunyo will now battle for the number one slot with youngster Samuel Mwaka, James Alitho and the recovering Alionzi.

His return cames at the time when the Tax Collectors are preparing for the CAF Confederation Cup premilimary round fixture against Ethiopia Coffee scheduled for this Sunday at St.Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
