Uganda National Women’s Basketball team, the Gazelles will start their bid to return to AfroBasket against Kenya this evening
This was set during the technical meeting held on Monday evening at Onomo Hotel, Nakasero where a few issues were deliberated on.
With just five countries ( Egypt, Uganda, Kenya, South Sudan and Rwanda) at the tournament, the qualifiers will be played in a round-robin format, with each team playing the other once.
After this stage, the top team and the second will face off in the final to decide the tournament champion
The tournament winner will qualify for the continental tournament set to be played in Kigali this year.
Kenya are the defending champions of this tournament as they defeated Egypt in the final two years ago, in a tournament Uganda missed out due to financial constraints.
Uganda will hope to make it back to AfroBasket after their last show in 2015 when they finished in 10th
