Kampala Queens celebrations were put on hold as hey dropped their first points this season in the FUFA Women’s Super League, match day 12 wafter drawing 1-1 with Makerere Women Football Club.
All this happened at the IUIU football grounds on Sunday morning 5th, March after Shamirah Nalugya put the Queens ahead but Makerere University drew level minutes later through Husna Mpanja.
After the game, the goal scorer and Club captain Shamirah Nalugya came out to up hail her team’s performance ;
“First of all I want to thank my fellow players for the good performance, it has been a high intensity game but we are happy for the result.” she said
“It’s also amazing and I want to thank the almighty for that. In the next game, we hope to correct our mistakes and come back strong as we keep focus.” she concluded
Despite not winning their game, Makerere stay top of the table with 34 points from 12 games, 12 points ahead of second placed Uganda Martyrs Lubaga.
For Makerere University they continue to lay 9th with 12 points from 12 games.
