Crested Cranes forward Fazila Ikwaput scored four goals as Lady Doves got off to a flying start on Monday morning after they defeated Isra SC 5-0 in their first 2020/21 FUFA Women Super league match played at FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
Lady Doves started the game the brightest and were unlucky not to take the lead early on in the game when Ikwaput’s effort rattled the bass of the post after a nice tiddy run from the right in the 16th minute.
But the deadlock was broken moments later by Lydia Nyandera when she capitalized on a poor clearance by Isra goalie, Brenda Kasana to fire into the back of the net and give her side a well deserved lead.
Ikwaput, who had seen his two effort strike the woodwork then doubled Doves’ advantage in the 35th minute with a sublime finish after being setup by Joweria Nagadya.
The game went into recess with the Lady Doves holding a comfortable 2-0 lead over Isra SC.
Just after the break, Ikwaput got his second, scoring from a direct freekick after she was fouled just outside the box.
Ikwaput’s third came in the 64th minutes when she raced onto a through ball to tap home into an empty net after Brenda had left her goal unopposed.
The fourth for Ikwaput and Doves’ fifth came late on in the game, two minutes to the death of the game.
Ikwaput becomes the first player to net a hat trick in this season’s tournament and moves top of the topscorers chats.
