League champions Mengo City and neighbors Kisenyi FC will face off in the 2025 Futsal Uganda Cup final slated for May 30th at Old Kampala Futsal Arena.
The date was moved from May 23 due to Kisenyi’s involvement in both the Uganda Cup and Frenzy Edition finals, originally scheduled for the same day.
Mengo City booked their place in the final with a 4-1 victory over Kabuusu Clouds in the semifinal played on Monday. AbdulKarim Tebera opened the scoring in the 8th minute. Akram Ssali doubled the lead four minutes later, before setting up Tebera for his second and Mengo’s third just two minutes after.
With a 3-0 lead at halftime, Mengo continued to dominate in the second half. Tugume added the fourth goal, and Uthuman Male pulled one back for Kabuusu Clouds to end the game 4-1.
In the second semifinal, Kisenyi FC eliminated defending champions Park FC in a dramatic penalty shootout, winning 5-3 after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Park took the lead twice through Derrick Walugembe and Michael Abura, but Kisenyi responded each time. Ilyas Omran equalized Walugembe’s opener before a late own goal from Joshua Aziku, who deflected a shot from Bashir Waleed, leveled the game again with just two minutes to go.
With no extra time, the match proceeded straight to penalties. Kisenyi converted all their spot-kicks whilst Park’s Aziku missed his attempt.
