Futsal Super league: Mengo, Big Talent impress on opening day

Mengo Futsal Cup and new entrants Big Talent Soccer Academy were impressive on the opening day of the 2021 Futsal Super league at the Old Kampala Sports Arena on Saturday morning as they kick-started their campaigns with heavy wins.

In the first game of the new season , Big Talent SA with the help of two talented brothers, Farouk Tumwesigye and Ssali Shafik came from behind to defeat Kampala Junior Team 11-7. Ssali netted five times while Farouk got a hatrick.

Title favourites Park FC then took the field of the play, but were delt a blow after they surrendered a two goals lead to draw 4-all with Kisenyi Futsal Club.

Obua Kevin, Abas Junior and Kalyango Sam netted for Park FC before Hussein Sadam netted twice to inspire Kisenyi’s comeback.

Mengo were brilliant on the day as they ran past Aidenal SOSA FC 8-3. Mugisha Rogers was the star man for Mengo City as he netted a hatrick while Makanga Morris netted a brace for Aidenal on the losing effort.

In the last game of the day, Synergy held on to defeat Yeak Kabowa Futsal Club 4-3 in a tightly contested game.

Kazibwe Musa, Yiga Frank, Yasin Sabir and Kimbugwe Sulaiman all netted a goal each for Synergy while Mugenyi Swaburu, Jovan Maweje and Bruno Ssegirinya were on target for Yeak.

Action will resume next weekend on Saturday, 8th May 2021 at the same ground, Old Kampala Sports Arena.
