FUBA unveil Atuna as Gazelles new coach

The Federation of Uganda Basketball Association ( FUBA) has unveiled Alberto Atuna as the new Gazelles head coach.

The unveiling took place on Monday morning at Hotel African (Sipi Hall) in an event organised by FUBA.

Atuna, who is a Spanish will be assisted by Nick Natuhereza, Mavita Ali and Henry Malinga.

The Spanish’s appointment comes at a time when the Gazelles are preparing for the upcoming FIBA Zone V AfroBasket 2023 Qualifiers that will take place in Lugogo between 14-16 February.

A squad of 28 home-based players has been summoned and will start non-residential training at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on Monday January 16th.

The Gazelles are seeking to making a return to AfroBasket since their last show in 2015 edition when they finished 10th.
