Vipers SC head coach Fred Kajoba is confident his team has what it takes to go past Jamal Salim Magoola’s Al Hilal Omdurman in the CAF Champions league premiliary round.
The StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions were drawn against the Sudan outfit yesterday evening at the draws of CAF Club competitions in Cairo, Egypt.
As per the draws, Vipers will host Al Hilal at the St. Mary’s stadium, Kitende for the first leg between 27 and 29 November before traveling to Sudan for the second leg between 4th and 6th December.
Speaking to the club website, Vipers SC head coach Fred Kajoba is blooming with confidence that his venoms will make it past Al Hilal Omdurman, a club where Cranes goalkeeper Jamal Salim plies his trade.
“Its another great opportunity to revive our fortunes in this competition,” Fred Kajoba told Vipers’ website before adding that;
“We have what it takes to get past our opponents because the team has been at this level before and we have been preparing for this for many months.”
” We have a good team and we believe that with determination and character, we shall get where want to be.”
If Vipers can make it past the Sudan Champions, they will face either Ghana’s Asante Kotoko or Mauritania’s Noudhibou FC in the last qualification round before the group stages.
Vipers last participated in the CAF champions league in the 2018-19 season but fell to Algeria’s CS Constantine 3-0 on aggregate, one round shy of the group stages.
