Express FC forward Eric Kambale has been named the footballer of the month of May at the ForteBet Real Stars Awards ceremony held at Route 256, Lugogo on Tue morning.
This is after the Express target man had an impressive month, scoring eight goals across all competitions as he had a hat-trick against Kyetume in Nakisunga, a brace against Kitara and a goal each against UPDF, Busoga United and Police.
He only failed to find the back of the net against KCCA in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
He beat off competitions from teammate and goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga ( who had four cleansheet in five games) and URA’s Steven Desse Mukwala, who was on target four times in five games.
At the same ceremony, KIU Titans’ Ade Faisal was named the best in the basketball category, beahing off JKL’s Hope Akello and Ndejje Angels’ Samuel Ayala.
While Jacob Kiplimo emerged the best in athletics, beating Joshua Cheptegei and Presca Achesa.
