ForteBet Real star Awards: September nominees revealed

The organizers of the ForteBet Real Stars Sports monthly awards have released a list of athletes nominated as outstanding performers for the month of September.

Twelve sports personalities across four disciplines such as football, athletics, basketball and Cricket have been listed where each category winner will walk away with a plaque and cash.

In football, Bruno Bunyaga (BUDDU/SLAU) will face competition from Sand Cranes Ambrose Kigozi alongside GOMBA and SLAU forward  Blanchar Mulamba

Bunyaga helped Buddu get into the Masaza quarter finals which they have past by to head into the semifinal .

Ambrose Kigozi is the other player on the list having scored five goals for the Sand Cranes and has winning two accolades.

While Blanchar “Brown” Mulamba an offensive midfielder, one of the fulcrum points for the on-fire St Lawrence University football team in the 2022 Pepsi University Football League.

In athletics, Jacob Kiplimo, Abel Chebet and Kwemoi are the three on the podium.

Kiplimo won gold in the Double Commonwealth as he returned to England win the Great North Run ahead of Ethiopians, Selemon Barega and Kenenisa Bekele.

Abel Chebet after winning bronze at Konya Islamic men’s 300m in Turkey bronze and won at the Inter-Forces  in Bombo Army Barracks while Kwemoi finished second in the media marathon in Bogota

Raziat Ali Shah, Juma Miyaji and Patricia Timong made the final list of nominees in cricket.

Both Raziat Ali Shah and Juma Miyaji helped the Cricket Cranes win the ingural Africa Cup in South Africa winning the final against neighbours Tanzania

Former Patricia Timong, she helped the U-19 girls cricket team reach the U-19 world cup Qualifiers where they reached the semifinal dropping out at the expense of Rwanda.

The basketball category has Brenda Ekone( JKL Dolphins) , Tony Drileba( City Oilers) and Ariel Okal(Namuwongo Blazers)

Brenda Akone, a winner in the previous month of August, helped the JKL Dolphins advance to the final at the expense of KCCA.

Both Tony Drileba and Ariel Okal also helped their respective clubs secure a place in the men’s National Basketball League playoff final.

The awarding ceremony for the winners will take place on Tuesday 4th October at Route 256 restaurant in Lugogo.

Each winner will take home a hefty prize cash courtesy of sponsors ForteBet and Jude Colour Solutions.
